Carl E. "Cub" Porch, 86 of Kecksburg, passed away Saturday, September 06, 2014 in RNC of Greensburg. Born July 13, 1928 in Kecksburg, he was a son of the late William F. and Florence M. (Shaffer) Porch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Stella Christner, Ray Porch, Opal Easoz, Emery Porch, Helen Mellors, Adah Butler, and Shirley Perz. Cub was a self-employed stone mason and a lifelong farmer. He was protestant by faith. Carl was a veteran of the Army having served during the Korean War. He was the loving husband of 63 years to Marian F. (Craig) Porch, loving father to two children Cynthia Genard and husband James of Norvelt, Daniel Porch and Cathleen Howle of St. Clairsville, OH, loving grandfather to two grandsons Army Major Jason Genard and wife Julia and their daughter Ava Rose of Washington, and Army Captain Ryan Genard and wife Molly and their son Guy Carl of Tennessee. Also surviving are siblings Freeda Wisotzkey of Gettysburg, Doris Galko, of Export and Norma Jean Brodak of Mt. Pleasant and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, 15674 where his funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Kecksburg.
