Cecilia V. Casterwiler 91, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday October 25, 2018. Born October 14, 1927 daughter of the late Charles and Sophia Drost Shay. She was a member of St. Florian Catholic church. Cecilia was a talented seamstress, loved crocheting, Pittsburgh Pirate fan and enjoyed trips to the casino. She is survived by her two sisters Mildred (Delmar) Overly and Elizabeth Shay and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Wilfred Casterwiler, two brothers Paul Shay and Charles Shay Jr., sisters Rita Nye, Madeline Hoffman, Helen Wolfe, JoAnn Dragovich, and Catherine Jeffrey. Family and friends will be received 9-10am Monday October 29, 2018 at the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt. Transfer prayers will be Monday 10:15am in the funeral home followed by her funeral mass in St. Florian Catholic Church at 11am with Reverend John A. Sedlak as celebrant.
