Charles Lehman Shafer 83 of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday January 3, 2019. Born March 17, 1935 son of the late George and Annie Brown Shafer. Prior to retirement he worked at Advance Heating and Plumbing. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Gloria Frund Shafer in 2015, siblings Alice Hays, Glenn Shafer, Mae Kalp, Domer Shafer, Garnet Carney, and Lorene Shafer. He was the last surviving member of his family.  He was survived by his daughter Vicki Shafer at home, son Reed and his wife Denise of Mt. Pleasant and special friend Kay Hauger. Family and friends will be received Sunday January 6, 2019 from 2-8pm in the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt. His funeral service will be Monday at 11am in the funeral home with Reverend Roger P. Howard officiating and Reverend John Logan co officiating. He will be laid to rest in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
