Clarence E. “Fudgie” Pfeifer, Sr. 83 of Mammoth, PA, passed away peacefully on August 27,2016 at Mountain View Specialty Care Center. He was born in Mount Pleasant, PA to Edward and Mary Pfeifer on August 19,1933. Clarence attended Ramsey High School in Mount Pleasant and graduated in 1952. He worked as a welder at Over Myer Mold Company for 30 years, and then worked on building maintenance crew at Westmoreland County Community College until his retirement in 2000. “Fudgie” was President of the Jednota George Onda District 3 from 2003 until 2015 and was also President for the Jednota Branch 181 United, PA until his retirement. He loved to play bingo at the Polish Falcon 147 in Mount Pleasant. Clarence loved to tell stories to everyone of how proud he was of his children and their accomplishments and how especially proud he was of his grandkids, Jon, Sports Facility grounds crew at Louisiana State University and Alyssa, Registered Nurse at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. In addition to his parents Edward and Mary Pfeifer, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Mizikar Pfeifer. Clarence “Fudgie” is survived by his four children, Clarence, Jr (“Butch”) (Dee Dee) of Lawndale, NC, Kathleen of Baton Rouge, LA, Linda Boggs (Tim) of Pleasant View, TN and Thomas of Mammoth, PA, grandchildren, Jon Michael of Baton Rouge, LA and Alyssa Pfeifer of New Alexandria, PA, his two sisters, Janet Pfeifer of Mount Pleasant, PA and Arlene Zelenske of Ligonier, PA, his nephew Andrew “Tuggy” Zelenske of Hunt, TX, his Mizikar In-Laws; brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews around the country and his Garczyk cousins in St. Clairsville, OH. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1-3 and 5-8pm in the Jay A Hoffer Funeral home. A Catholic funeral mass will be held at St. Florian Church on Wednesday at 10 am with Reverend John Sedlak officiating. Burial will follow at St. Florian Cemetery, Trauger.
