Daniel M. Kontir PHD, 70 passed away Thursday July 6, 2017 at his home. Born November 14, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna Nemeth Kontir. Prior to retirement he an instructor in education working LaRoche college, Carlow University and WCCC. In addition to his parents preceded in death by a brother Andrew, two sisters Elizabeth Lindley, Mary Ann Witek and two nephews Eugene Kontir and Bruce Witek. Surviving are Justin D. Kontir and his wife Andrea of Mt. Pleasant, Gregory M. Kontir and his wife Rebecca of Mt. Pleasant, four grandchildren Alexys, Yukon, Jack, Luke and his former spouse Gloria Kontir of Greensburg. He also survived by his brother James and Mary Ann Kontir, several nieces, nephews and a special nephew Christopher Kontir. As per Dan’s request there will be not public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt.
