Dolores Symansky, 89, of Greensburg, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at New Haven Court at Lindwood, Greensburg. A devoted mother, grandmother and animal lover, she was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Calumet, daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Galentine) Remias. Prior to retirement, Dolores worked for Pepsi for 25 years as a bookkeeper. She was a devoted Catholic and was a lifelong member of Forty Martyrs Catholic Church. Dolores volunteered at Latrobe Hospital for 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Symansky, in 1998; and one son-in-law, Walt Morrison. She is survived by daughters, Julie Morrison, of Harrisburg, Lynn Saxman, of Latrobe, Nancy Peksa, of Greensburg, and Barbara Reese, of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Mark), Erik (Mary), Tiffany, Matthew (Aire), Joshua (Emily), Jessica (Joe) and Nick; and 12 great-grandchildren, Brendan, Brady, Ryan, Sydney, Quinn, Owen, Kaiden, Konner, Lillian, Andrew, Penelope, and Winslow. Viewing, service, and interment will be private. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at New Haven Court at Lindwood for the excellent care of our mother.
