Edward J Sivak

Edward J. Sivak, passed away on February 25, 2024, at the age of 81. Ed was born in Mt. Pleasant on June 2, 1942, and throughout his life, he left a lasting impact on those around him.

Growing up in the family business, Sivak Studebaker Sales & Service, Ed developed a passion for mechanics and automobiles. He also worked at Elliott's in Jeannette, juggling two jobs until the family business was sold, showing his strong work ethic and dedication.

Outside of work, Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a longtime member of the Little Sewickley Sportsmen's Club, a lifetime member of the Hecla Sportsmen's Club and a member of St. Florian Church. An honest, hardworking, and quiet family man, Ed was always there to lend a helping hand and offer sage advice. His mantra of "always have a plan B" will continue to guide his loved ones.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Cecelia Sivak and a brother Ron Sivak.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, B. Darlene (Knapfel) Sivak, his children Randy (Paulette) Sivak, Sherry (George) Hirak, and Rhonda (Kipp) Anderson, grandchildren Stephanie (Ray), Alan (Jen), Dan (Taylor), Jordan (Dylan), Travis (Brittany), and Mike, great-grandchildren Emma, Callie, Tessa, Sadie, and Kaleb, a sister Dolores Zilli, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on WEDNESDAY from 2-4 and 6 until the time of Vigil Prayers at 7:45pm in the HOFFER WILT FUNERAL HOME (formerly Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home), Norvelt, PA, where Fr. John A. Sedlak will lead a Blessing Service on THURSDAY at 10am. Burial to follow in St. Florian Cemetery.

As we bid farewell to Ed, we remember his ability to fix anything and his unwavering support for his family. He may be gone, but his legacy and wisdom will live on as we navigate life with our own "plan B."
