Edward M. Sobinsky

Edward M. Sobinsky, 76, of Norvelt passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Born March 30, 1938 in Carpentertown, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Novak) Sobinsky. Prior to retiring in 2000, Ed was employed by Overly of Greensburg for 40 years. He was a member of SMWIA Local #12 for over 50 years. In addition to his parents Edward is preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew E. Andrews in 2006, and a brother, John J. Sobinsky. He is survived by his children, Mary Anna Oleszewski of Knoxville, TN, Barbara Andrews of Stahlstown, Cathleen Bernett of Morgantown, WV, Edward M. Sobinsky Jr., of Southwest, Marsha Rogers of Latrobe, five grandchildren, one great grandson and a great granddaughter, former spouse, Erma Sobinsky, siblings James R. Sobinsky and Anna Marie Levine, both of Mt. Pleasant. Friends and Family will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, 15674, where his funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. John A. Sedlak officiating. Interment to follw at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Calumet. A vigil service will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
