Elza I. McCurdy Thomas, 75, of Armbrust, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021. She was born May 20, 1945, a daughter of the late Donald and Ivy (Sobinsky) McCurdy. Elza was a beautiful soul, a loving wife and a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved camping, crocheting and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (Jeep) Thomas; daughter, Kimberly (Doug) Bueche; brother, Donald McCurdy; sister, Dorothy McBryar; and daughter-in-law, Kelly Thomas. She is survived by a son, Eugene (Boomer) Thomas; daughter, Cherie (Joseph) Chucko; sisters, Janet (Ronald) Arnett and Joyce (Harry) Brown; brother, Bill McCurdy; son-in-law Doug; her special friend, Marie Chucko; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt , Monday, April 12, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at which time her service will begin with Rev. Almon Birt officiating. Inurnment will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17 at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. "I love you more today, than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. I love you to infinity and beyond."
