Frank James Patula Sr. World War II Veteran, 93 went to be with the Lord Saturday February 24, 2018. He was born March 1, 1924 in Acme PA. Frank was the son of the late Joseph and Catharine Pochran Patula. He was a WWII Army Veteran with the 740th tank battalion as a truck driver who transported refugees out of concentration camps back to their home country. He was a gold circle member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3368, Kecksburg Club, and Possum Hollow Club. He worked construction all of his life and retired from Fretts and Leeper Construction. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nellie Terhorst Wilson Patula, three step daughters whom he raised, Darlene(Gerald) Brinker of Houston TX, Peggy(Gary) Baggett of Belmont, NC, and Vicky(Randy) Brown of Crucible PA, daughter Kelly Lloyd of Mebane NC, and sons Frank(Denise) Patula Jr of Acme PA and Gregory (Susan) Patula of Greensburg PA. The legacy he leaves behind are the following grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Barry(Kelly) Brinker, children Sydney Brinker, Madeline and Kaylee Eyerly, Matthew Brinker and Michelle Brinker, Angela(Wyman) Morriss and children Wil, Elizabeth and Eleanor; Christine (Mark) Bechtel and children Jude and Dominic; Jennifer(Steven) Boender and children Soren and Rory, Gary(Stacey) Baggett and children James, Jarome and Kydan; Timothy (Mandy) Brown, Kelly(Brian) Landau and children Baylee and Briana; Carey(Eddie) Joseph and children Tyler and Ian Colbert, Alejandro, Liliana, Nick, Desiree and Leslie, John (Kris) Lloyd Jr. and children Hayden and Katie; Adam, Jared, Gregory, Vincent, Isabella and Rachel Patula. He was the last surviving member of his family. He is preceded by ten brothers John(infancy), Joseph Jr., Thomas, Michael, Andrew, John, William, Stanley, Carl and Steve, four sisters Mary Palmer, Ann Labuda, Helen Hoffer, and Caroline Stefl. The family is inviting guests from 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday at the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt where his funeral service will be held Thursday at 11am with Pastor Brian Geesaman officiating. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Kecksburg. Military rites will be accorded by the Armbrust Veteran Association at 10:45am at the funeral home to honor their fallen comrade. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Excela Health Home Care and Hospice, 501 West Otterman St, Greenburg PA 15601, and Chestnut Ridge Meals on Wheels, 647 Bethel Church Rd, Latrobe PA 15650.
