Gabriel C. Mott, 77, of Norvelt passed away December 10, 2015 at Excela Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. He was born December 18, 1937 in Humphreys, PA to Joseph Sr. and Julia (Nagi) Mott. Gabriel was raised Greek Catholic and attended services at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He retired in 1999 from the Elliott Company in Jeannette where he worked as a Methods Engineer. Gabe, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, was a man of few words but passionate about hunting, wood carving, gardening, cooking and spending time with his beloved dog and constant companion, Jeffy. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffrey Mott, brothers Joseph Jr., Stephen, George, Alec and Paul and sisters, Julia Bulebosh, Anna Gogets, and Helen Surma. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda (Strandberg) Mott, daughters Lori (Ed) Titterington of Norvelt, Marcie Mott (Jim Holt) of Bear Rocks, Lynne (Randy) Rossi of Greensburg; son-in-law Chas Craig of Tarrs, daughter-in-law Jean Stevens of Colorado, grandchildren Matthew, Jenea, and Marissa Craig, Alexandra Zipnock-Rossi, Stephanie Dominick, Jordan Moore, Kristi Miller and Rob Titterington; great grandchildren A.J. Dominick, Mia Miller, and Ashton Lambert; brothers John (Glenna) Mott of Norvelt, Mike Mott, Andrew (Dorothy) Mott, and sister Yolanda Mott, all of Humphreys; sisters-in-law Carolyn (Ray) Porch of Pueblo, CO and Betty Strandberg of Kecksburg, along with several nieces and nephews. Friends and Family will be received Sunday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA 15674.
