Galen R. Wilkins, 88, of Kecksburg passed away peacefully, Friday, February 20, 2015 at his daughters', Sherry Little, where he made his home. Born October 31, 1926 in Kecksburg, he was a son of the late William and Emma (Stahl) Wilkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Blanche (Leichliter) Wilkins, a son William George Wilkins, son in law Kenneth "Sam" Little and siblings Carl, Harry, William, Eugene and Clair Wilkins, Marie Yothers, Pauline Brown, Stella Lewis, Eva Blystone, Cecelia Stoner and Vanessa Conlin. He had attended Fairview Church of God with his wife. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a lineman for Citizens Telephone of Kecksburg. Galen was a veteran, having served with the Army during WWII. He was a member of Kecksburg VFD for 57 years, where he held various offices. Galen is survived by three children Sherry Little of Acme, Harry (Darlene) Wilkins of Kecksburg, Larry (Nora) Wilkins of Kecksburg, six grandchildren William, Donald, Benjamin, Jenna , Joshua and Stephanie; nine great grandchildren Tristina, Carly, Madison, Olivia, Elyzabeth, Shelby, Victoria, Brooke and Jordan; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, 15674 where his funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Beverly A. Spore officiating. Interment to follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville
