Genevieve "Gene" J Harvan

Genevieve “Gene” J. Harvan, age 94, of Hecla, passed away on January 26, 2024 in the Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Hecla on March 26, 1929 to the late Stephen and Agnes Harvan. 

Gene retired from Powerex, formerly Westinghouse Semiconductor, Youngwood, a 1947 graduate of Hurst High School and a lifetime member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and it’s Rosary Society, Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard R. Harvan.

Gene is survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Harvan of Greensburg, a niece Diane (Mike) Prisuta of Export, a nephew, Gary Harvan of Greensburg, three great nieces and nephews, Cayla, Nicole, and Anthony, and five great great nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on TUESDAY from 9 am until the time of transfer prayers at 11:15 am at HOFFER WILT FUNERAL HOME (formerly Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home), Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 pm in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. Interment in Visitation Parish Cemetery will follow.
