Gerard Joseph Stefanek, 63, Greensburg, PA, formerly of Norvelt, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Hempfield Manor. He was born November 25, 1959, in Pittsburgh, to the late Albert Stefanek Sr. and Helen (Bann) Stefanek. Prior to retirement he worked as a laborer for Montgomery Ward, Little Caesars, Sears, Walmart and McDonalds. He was a member of St. Florian Church, Life Member of Norvelt VFD, and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Twp. Lions Club. He is survived by a twin sister, Geralyn Susko (Frank), two brothers, Allen Stefanek (Mina), and Albert Stefanek Jr. (Leticia), six nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and Nathan Susko, Chase and Jason Stefanek, Danielle and Ashley Stefanek. Family and Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA 15674. Transfer prayers will be Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by Gerard’s funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Florian Church. Entombment will be at St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe, in The Mary Mother of Mercy Mausoleum. The members of Norvelt Volunteer Fire Company, Station No. 37, will meet at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM to conduct a firemen’s memorial service.
