Harry R. Riddle, 85, of Norvelt, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 21, 1932, in Greensburg, the son of the late Russell and Sara (Hutchinson) Riddle. Harry was a 1950 graduate of Hurst High School and proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Harry worked for Farzati Manufacturing for the last 35 years. In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley A. (Barr) Riddle; his brother, James A. Riddle; sister, Alice Saville; and mother- and father-in-law, James and Gertrude Barr. Harry is survived by his sons, Russell E. Riddle (Hope) and James E. Riddle; his devoted granddaughters, Anna and Allison Riddle, who loved him dearly and lovingly helped care for their "pappy" during his illness; grandson, Harry Riddle; sister-in-law, Frances Riddle, who tirelessly helped the family during this time; and by several nieces and nephews. Harry is also survived by his work family at Farzati Manufacturing, who took wonderful care of him, especially his dear friends, Frank, Linda, Denny and Matt. The family would like to thank them for their love and support over the last six months. The family would also like to thank Harry's hospice nurse, Missie, for the wonderful care she provided to him. Per Harry's wishes, friends and family will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at HOFFER'S FUNERAL HOME, with a memorial service starting at 7 p.m. Military rites accorded at 4 p.m. by Armburst Veterans Association.
