Hazel M. Sharon 79, of Greensburg was called home to be with her Lord on Friday April 27, 2018. Born March 29, 1939 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Gladys Moyer Scherer.  She was a member of Zion’s Lutheran Church in Greensburg on Pennsylvania Ave. Prior to retirement Hazel was employed as a dietician aide for the sisters of charity in Greensburg, also various jobs including Norvelt Laundromat and Caron Laundromat. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Paul D. Sharon and the following siblings, Margaret Simms, Etta Detore, Mary Pokorny, Jack Scherer, Robert Scherer, Roy “Billy” Scherer, and Joseph Scherer. She is survived by her husband of 56 years William “Bill” Sharon, children Nina Wirick (Mark) of Bedford PA and Todd Sharon of Greensburg, daughter in law Laurie Sharon of Charleston South Carolina, 6 grandchildren Chelsea Sharon, Benjamin (Alexis), Jakob, Cameron (Kelia) Wirick and Joshua Sharon. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Hazel loved her Lord, her family, her friends and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Family and friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 6-8pm with additional viewing Tuesday at 11am in the funeral home followed by her funeral service at 12pm in Zion’s Lutheran Church, Greensburg with her pastor Brian Chaffee to be announced at a later time.
