Hugh Nicholas "Nick" Morrison III, 40, of Unity Township, went to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 11, 2017. Nick died unexpectedly of a heart attack. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and everyone who knew him. He was born May 20, 1977, in Latrobe. He was a 1995 graduate of Greater Latrobe High School. Nick is survived by his loving wife, Christie (Ritenour) Morrison, of 19 years; a daughter, Sierra, a son, Hunter, and a daughter to be born in December. Nick is also survived by his father and mother, Hugh (Nick) and Carol (Patty) Morrison Jr., of Greensburg; sister, Rachel Lancaster (husband, Mike), of Murrysville, sister, Melissa Morrison, of McLean, Va., and sister, Valerie Varchetti (husband Shawn), of Greensburg; also father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Dolores Ritenour, of Latrobe, sister-in-law, Susy Barr, of Latrobe, brother-in-law, Daniel Ritenour, of Greensburg, sister-in-law, Stacey Ritenour, of Irwin, brother-in-law, Richard Ritenour, of Greensburg, and sister-in-law, Sandy Ciampa, of Scottsdale; and paternal grandmother, Eileen Morrison, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Nick was a longtime resident of Unity Township, where he and his father operated and managed D-Bug Waterproofing Inc. He was vice president of operations for 22 years. Nick was well known for his magnetic personality in communicating and relating with others. Nick was a dedicated father and loved his family more than words can express. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He loved spending his time outdoors. Nick spent his time as an assistant coach for his daughter's softball team and coaching his son's deck hockey, soccer and baseball teams. He was a member of the following associations, Westmoreland Builder's Association, NRA, Ligonier Country Club, BBB, Chamber of Commerce and Basement Health Association. Family and friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy Stradling officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. Florian Cemetery, Trauger.
