Joan B Reese

Joan B. Reese, 79, of Southwest, passed away at 2:05 a.m., Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 28, 1937, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Victoria and John Banashak Sr. She was a member of St. Bruno Church. She attended Greensburg Salem High School. Joan was a telephone operator for Verizon Telephone for 37 years. Joan was a generous woman who could never say no to anyone. She is survived by her loving husband, James R. Reese, of 54 years; a devoted daughter, Linda Marie Marcolini, and son-in-law, John A. Marcolini; grandson, Anthony Marcolini; and granddaughter, Andrea Marcolini. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Joan is also survived by her brother, John Banashak Jr. and his wife, Carol; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Loretta Jaynes. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA 15674. Prayers of Transfer at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Bruno's, Greensburg, with the Rev. Patricio Aborde as celebrant. with transfer prayers at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
