Joellen Anne “Bunny” Peffer, 73, of Norvelt, passed away peacefully at home with her family on January 15, 2023, after a short battle with lung cancer and white matter disease. Born on Easter and earning her nickname “Bunny” in Braddock, PA to Frances (Puskarich) and Joseph Vasko, she was raised in West Mifflin alongside her three younger sisters. Joellen is survived by and was extremely loved and proud of her four daughters, Bonnie Peffer (Rich Wilkins), of Las Vegas, Nev., Jessica (Larry) Stormer, of Ligonier, Nicole (Bob) Martin, of Norvelt, and Amanda (Jeff) Raccor, of Pleasant Unity; her seven grandchildren and true joys in her life who affectionately called her “Bubba” include six granddaughters, Jenna Raccor, Kelsey Stormer, Emily Raccor, Lindsey Stormer, Rylee Martin, and Haley Stormer, and her only grandson, Nathaniel Wilkins. Joellen is also survived by two sisters, Linda Stone and her husband, Bo, of McDonald, PA and Nancy Toth and her husband, Richard of Munhall, PA. Additionally, her numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law and their spouses and very good friends. Bunny was preceded in death by true love and husband, Byron “Zeke” Peffer; her parents; and her beloved younger sister, Marlene Cornell; her brother-in-law, Jacob Peffer III; her in-laws Jacob and Mary Peffer; and her nephew, Wayne Specht. For over 30 years, she worked as a purchasing technician in the bookstore at Westmoreland County Community College. A job she thoroughly enjoyed as she cared immensely about the students and staff at the college. Bunny was a kind and generous soul and will be truly missed by all who knew her. The family will celebrate her life and receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the funeral home, with Pastor David L. Greer officiating. Bunny will be laid to rest alongside her fraternity sweetheart and husband Zeke at Forty Martyrs Cemetery, Trauger. Our mother bravely battled five different cancers in her lifetime.
