John Joseph Puskar, 62, of Southwest, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Born July 21, 1954, he was a son of the late John and Mary Mamula Puskar. He was a member of St. Florian Church, Hecla Honor Roll Committee, Local Union 1058 and Hecla Slovak Sportsmen Club. John was most happy when helping others. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved his hunting dogs, Bud and Cash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Kay Bashioum, Joan Thomas and Bernadette Hall. John was the beloved husband of Kathleen Roebuck; a loving father to John J., and his wife, Rose, and Michael G; and loving grandfather to Grace and Jolene. He is also survived by siblings, Kathy Perkey, Sophie Puskar, and Michael Puskar. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt. The vigil service will begin at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. His funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Florian Catholic Church, United, with the Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Transfer prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home. He will be laid to rest following his funeral Mass at St. Florian Cemetery, Trauger.
