Lois A. Lucas, 84, of United, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, December 07, 2014 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born February 11, 1930 at home in United, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Ponsurak) Polcha. She was a lifetime member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United where she was a past organist. Lois was the last survivor of 11 brothers and sisters. She was the loving wife of 64 years to Emil "Bunny" Lucas, loving mother to three daughters Janice (Scott) Meikle of Pooler, GA, Louise (Skip) Cernuto of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Ellen (Dave) Sebek of Century Farms, loving grandmother to six grandchildren Scott Meikle, Dr. Daniel (Erin) Meikle, Emily (A.J.) Shuster, Jillian (Josh) Corcoran, Allison (Jason) Willis, Capt. USMC Craig (Valarie) Sebek; three great grandchildren Grayson and Dane Willis and Kalie Sebek. Family and friends will be received 2-8 p.m. Tuesday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, 15674. Transfer prayers will be 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home followed by her mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Florian Church with Rev. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Florian Cemetery, Trauger. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Lois to St. Florian Church, box 187, United, PA 15689.
