Lois A. (Peffer) Shaffer, 90, of Norvelt of many years, recently making her home in Florida with her daughter, Pamela, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018. Born July 12, 1928, in Mammoth, she was the daughter of the late William and Hazel Miller Peffer. She was a member of St. Paul Luther Church, Trauger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lury William Shaffer "Steve"; daughter, Deborah Sivak; granddaughter, Marisa Sivak; twin sister, Lorraine Marshall; sister, Helen Bell; and brothers, Bob and Don Peffer. She was the loving mother to Lury (Sandy) Shaffer, of Donegal, Pamela (Randy) Dean, of Coral Springs, Fla., Tim Shaffer, and Mark Shaffer, both of Fox Chapel. Lois was the loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Steve Sivak, Noelle Dean Costar, Amanda Shaffer Kundrod, Honesty Dean Mantkowski and Michelle Dean; as well as six great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, at which time the service will begin, with Pastor Mark A. Werner officiating. Private interment to follow.
