Lois Stout

Lois M. Stahl Stout, age 87, of Hecla, passed away on January 28, 2025. She was born in Hecla on January 24, 1938, a daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy Gettemy.

Lois dedicated over 30 years of her life to serving the Mt. Pleasant Area School District as a school bus driver. Her commitment to the safety and well-being of the children she transported was unwavering, and she took great pride in her work.

A devoted family woman, Lois cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to include her beloved farm animals, which brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

Lois was a faithful member of the Community Church of Hecla, where she found solace and strength throughout her life. Her faith was a guiding light, and she treasured the community and friendships she built there.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Onega.

Lois leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory dear: her children, Judy (Jim) Bowser, Karen (Frank) Stoner, Donald (Christine) Stahl, Tammy (Jay) Klosky, and Jennifer (Ronald) Bungard; her sister, Joann (John) Brown; along with twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received from 3-7pm on Thursday at the Hoffer Wilt Funeral Home, Norvelt. Additional viewing will be held on Friday from 10am until the hour of her funeral service at 11am, conducted by Rev. Dr. Dale Porterfield, at the Community Church of Hecla, 537 Hecla Rd, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666. Everyone please meet at the church.
