Margaret L. “Peg” Gorinski, 91 of Calumet passed away Sunday August 16, 2015. Born March 5, 1924 in Mammoth, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Blissman) Sivak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. Gorinski on July 16, 2001, and infant brother Johnny, brothers Mike, Steve, and Andy Sivak, sisters Helen Skanter, Mary Gondos, and sisters-in-law Betty Gorinski and Agnes McCallen. Peg was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, where she worked at church festivals and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years. She followed and attended sporting events for 65 years starting with her husband’s, then children and grandchildren. Peg was the loving mother to three sons Robert J. (Denise) Gorinski of Acme, C. Edward (Nancy) Gorinski of Greensburg, Mark A. Gorinski of Calumet and Mary Ann Gorinski of Jeannette. She was the loving grandmother to six grandchildren Dr. Robert and Dr. Amy Gorinski, Mary Beth (Michael) McFarland, Tyler Gorinski and Kerri, Edward Gorinski, Lieutenant JG Laura Margaret Gorinski of the U.S. Navy, and Angelo; six great grandchildren Luke, Owen, Ben Maggie, Clare, and Aiden. She is also survived by two sisters Virginia “Babe” (Jack) Burkholder of Norvelt and Pauline Brandt of Youngwood. Family and friends will be received 4-8 PM, Tuesday August 18 in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, 15674. Transfer prayers will be 9:10 AM Wednesday, August 19 at JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME followed by her funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Florian Catholic Church with Reverend John A. Sedlak, celebrant. Vigil Service will be Tuesday at 4:15. Interment will be private in St. Florian Cemetery.
