Margaret Jane "Peg" Hunter, 92, of Norvelt, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, August 12, 2021. Born September 12, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Adelaide (Bowers) Lowstetter. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Chris (1998), infant sister Nancy, and son-in-law, Aaron Danneman (2019). Peg is survived by four children, Becky Jo (James) Cole, Suzy Danneman, Wendy (Ron) Slater, and Harry John Hunter. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Cole, Lisa (David) Weinman, David (Lisa) Cole, Melissa (Shawn) Gray, Ron (Kylee) Slater, Jr, Steve (Stephanie) Fontanazza, Jr, Christopher Slater, Lauren (Micha Shawn) Wilkes, and Amy Milburn; 19 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Sean, Jacob, Mackenzie, Dylan, Cassidy, Addison, Gage, Kailyn, Axle, Aidan, Maddie, Cameron, Blake, Addison, Reagan, Savannah, Jase, and Kennedy. Peg was a faithful member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was a founding member of the Adult fellowship in 1956 and taught Sunday school for many years. Peg also was on many church committees, Norvelt's election boards, a member of D.A.R. (Daughters of the Revolution), and Mothers Club. The family would like to thank Billie Pokopec and her Hospice nurse, Christie Drnjevich, for their compassion and care. Family and friends will be Welcomed at Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt, Tuesday, August 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Pegs funeral service will be Wednesday, 11 am, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mt Pleasant, with Deacon Michelle Kunkle officiating. Please go directly to the church. Reserved communion will be available. Interment will follow at St John's Cemetery, in Mt Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peg's name at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
