Margaret Tomechko

Margaret (Anderson) Tomechko, 92 of United, passed away Monday April 11, 2016. Born January 25, 1924, she was the daughter of Charles and Ethel McCracken Anderson. She retired from the US Postal Service, having worked in both United and Greensburg offices. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Michael, April 8, 1998; brother Charles E. Anderson; sisters Clara (Anderson) Workman and Ruth (Anderson) Moore; and brother-in-law Ralph Moore. She is survived by her son Terry Tomechko of Pittsburgh; daughter Aimee (Bob) Torkish of United; sister Janet (Lewis) Gardner of Dawson; sister-in-law Marion Anderson Of Greensburg; brother-in-law Bill Workman Greensburg; God daughter Nancy Tracy Logan of United; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, 15674 with a vigil service at 7:30. Transfer prayers will be 9:10 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home and her funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. in St. Florian Catholic Church, United, Rev. John A. Sedlak officiate. Interment to follow in St. Florian Cemetery.
