Mark Allen Simpson

Mark Allen Simpson, 58, of Mt. Pleasant Township, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014. Born October 22, 1955, he was the son of the late Frank Robert and Dorothy (Reese) Simpson. Before his retirement, Mark was employed as a heavy equipment operator for PennDOT, where he was recognized as a statewide employee of the month, among his many awards. He loved his weekends, when he got to watch NASCAR and his beloved Steelers. Everyone that knew him considered him the best guy in the world. Mark is survived by his sisters, Mary Jane Simpson, and Cheryl Simpson and Ed Kattera, His second mom, Dottie Monticue, his caregivers Cheryl Deak and Robin Honse, and his best and oldest friend Charlie Johnson. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 MT. PLEASANT RD., NORVELT 15674. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Middle Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant. Entombment to follow at Middle Presbyterian Cemetery.
