Mary Ann (Polcha) Mizikar, 75, of Mammoth, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in her home in Allison Park where she had recently relocated. She is the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Kissell Polcha. Mary Ann graduated from St. Xavier Academy and attended Robert Morris College. She then worked as an operator for Bell Telephone. When she became a mom, the title she most cherished, she devoted all of her time to her family. Once her kids were raised, she continued to shower anyone in need with her love and service. She was a caregiver for her mother until her final days. She then helped out friends who were sick and then her husband until his final days. Mary Ann’s life was a life of prayer and service to others. She said many rosaries per day and when she could no longer get to Mass, she watched Masses on her iPad often several per day. At her new home she was able to attend Mass or Eucharist service every week and she looked forward to those times. She had an angel collection that she loved. Mary Ann was an angel on earth with a heart of gold and would give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. She always put others above herself and will be deeply missed by many. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William M. Mizikar of 50 years. She is survived by her loving children Anita (Michael) Brak, and Matthew (Mandee) Mizikar, and her 5 granddaughters whom she loved more than anything: Morgan (Kyle) Foster, Emily Brak, Kaylee Mizikar, Sydney Mizikar and Mara Brak. Family and friends will be received Friday January 4, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt. Vigil Prayers will be 7:45pm in the funeral home. Transfer prayers will be 9:15am in the funeral home. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Florian Roman Catholic church on Saturday at 10am with Reverend John A. Sedlak as celebrant. She will be laid to rest in St. Florian cemetery.
