Mary M. Haines

Mary M. (Culver) Haines, 95, of Greensburg, died Sunday May 24, 2015. Born May 23 1920, she was a daughter of the late Cromwell and Mary (Victor) Culver. Mary was a 1938 graduate of Dunbar Township High School where she also served as past vice and president of the alumni club. A member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), she was also a former member of First Baptist, both of Greensburg, where she served as a secretary and treasurer of the Bailey Circle, and also co chairman of the Joy Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E Haines, her granddaughter, Wendy Sue Leonard (1992), a son-in-law, William T. Sheppard (2001). Also, she was preceded in death by the following siblings; Edwin, Frank, Robert, Perry, infant brother, Cromwell and sister Clover. She is survived by her daughter, Sally A. Sheppard of Greensburg, her granddaughter Donna Lee (Leonard) Miller and her husband Craig of Nashville, TN, her granddaughter Megan Lyn, sisters-in-law; Nina Culver, Marie Fisher and Margaret Steele. Surviving are many nieces and nephews as well. Family and Friends will be received 2:00 – 7:00 P.M Wednesday, in the Jay A Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt, 15674. Her funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, in the funeral home with Dr. Renny Domske, officiating. Interment to follow at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers memorials in honor of Mary made be made to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 134 Mathews Street, old Route 66 North, Greensburg, 15601.
