Mary E. (Nagy) Kirik, 102, formerly of Norvelt, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015. Born January 5, 1913 in Trauger, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Mary (Rusznak) Nagy. Mary was a member of Blessed Sacrement Cathedral, and a past member of Forty Martyrs Church, Trauger, where she attended the first and last Mass in the church. She was a lifelong member of the Forty Martyrs Rosary Society. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Kirik in 1987, and siblings Simon and Emily Nagy, Veronica Yantko, John, Paul, and Margaret Nagy. She was the loving mother to her children, John A. Kirik and wife Susan of Rock Island, IL, Paul J. Kirik, of Moline, IL, Joseph M. Kirik of West Bloomfield, MI, Mary E. Britt and husband Thomas of Greensburg, Richard E. Kirik and wife Jan, of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren, Paula Kowalczuk, Steven, Jeffrey, Brian, Justin, and Julie Kirik, Sean Britt, Amy Cooper, and Lisa Massari, Great Grandchildren, Peter, Nicholas, and Elyse Kowalczuk, Lauren, Megan, Emily, Mary, Jacob, Grace, Paula, and Elijah Kirik, Kyle Britt, Cole Massari, Madelyn and Alex Cooper, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 3 – 5 and 7 - 9 P.M., Thursday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME 2245 MT. PLEASANT RD., NORVELT, 15674. Mary's Funeral Mass will be 10 A.M. Friday in St. Cecilia Church, Whitney, with Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, O.S.B, as celebrant. Interment to follow at Forty Martyrs Cemetery, Trauger. Transfer prayers will be given 9:00 AM Friday in the funeral home. The members of the former Forty Martyrs Rosary Society will meet at 6:30 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
