Mary Elizabeth (Lucas) Tomechko, 93, of United passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh after a very brief illness. She was born September 20, 1921 to Mary and Joseph Lucas. Mary was married to Walter Tomechko until his death July 31, 1979. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Kujawa, 4 brothers, John, Joe, Walter, and Eugene Lucas. Mary lived a long and happy life. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. During her life she enjoyed golfing, bowling, bingo, reading, crossword puzzles, and casino trips. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and leaves behind many cherished friends at Westmoreland Manor. She is survived by her three sons, Tom (Anita) of Erie, Greg (Diana)of United, Bob (Renee) of Mt. Pleasant, Granddaughters, Erin (Russell) Potter of Aspen, CO, Dana (Scott) Turner of Erie, PA, her great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Katelyn of Erie. Also, sister, Margie (Greg) Bart, brothers, Emil, Bernard, and Eddie (Pauline) Lucas and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 5-9 P.M. Monday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME 2245 MT. PLEASANT ROAD, NORVELT, 15674. Mary's funeral Mass will be 11 A.M. Tuesday in St. Florian Church, United, with Rev. John A. Sedlak, celebrant. Transfer prayers will be 10:15 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Florian Cemetery, Trauger.
