Michele S. DeMary, of Norvelt, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on August 26, 2024, at the age of 68. She was born January 19, 1956 in Westmoreland City, a daughter of the late David L. Geier, Jr and Dolores “Cissie” Geier (Shaffer).
Michele was a 1974 graduate of Hempfield High School. After school, she spent time as a waitress and worked ten years with Naser Foods before embarking on an entrepreneurial journey by starting her own cleaning business. Her hard work and dedication were evident in every endeavor she undertook.
Michele was passionate about gardening, flowers, and plants, finding great joy and solace in nurturing nature.
A lifelong member of ABATE, Michele was also actively involved in the community as a member of the Norvelt, Kecksburg, and the former Trauger Fireman's Club. Her commitment to these organizations reflected her dedication to community service and camaraderie.
Michele was a very good wife, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Dave and Cissie Geier. Michele leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, Sam, and her cherished “cissies”, Mardel Geier (Bill Johnson), Diana Geier (German Machado), Denise Geier (Jeff Johns), Beth Geier (Ronnie Henderson), Cathy Geier (Ray Zedek), Beverly Geier LaSitis, Cindy Geier (Rich Niemiec), Amy Geier (Rob Sacket), David Geier III (Wendy Baum), 14 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, 4 great-great nieces and nephews and one very special great nephew, James David Johns with whom she shared a very special bond.
Michele will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and in the beautiful gardens she so lovingly tended.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the wonderful and caring staff of the Redstone Highlands Hospice.
A prayer service will be conducted by Fr. Pio Adamonis, OSB on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in the HOFFER WILT FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, at 2:00 PM followed by visitation until 4:00 PM.
