Minnie Joanne Ballew

M. Joann (Peffer) Ballew, 85, formerly of Norvelt, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Excela Health, Latrobe Hospital. Born March 14, 1930, she was a daughter of the late George and Nellie (Weir) Peffer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Ballew in 1982. Minnie was the last surviving member of her family. She was the loving mother to her children John (Gloria) Ballew of Bullskin Twp., Therese (Terry) Trice of Kecksburg, Lonna (Wesley) Dunn of Falls Creek; 5 grandchildren, Wayne Ballew, Donald Ballew, Lottie Hirak, Holly Wilson, Wesley Dunn; 9 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In honoring Joann's wishes her visitation and funeral service will be private in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 MT. PLEASANT RD., NORVELT, 15674, with Pastor David L. Greer, Officiating. Private interment to follow in St. Paul Reformed Cemetery, Trauger.
