Patricia A. “Pat” Krynicky, 72, of Norvelt, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, after a 15-year courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side. She was born May 2, 1951 in Latrobe to the late Oliver Morelli and Martha (Ashley) Zeunges. Pat was a 1969 graduate of Latrobe High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony “Dago” Morelli and Tommy Morelli. She first worked as a manicurist at Hair Fashions by Roberts. Later in life she went to nursing school first at Westmoreland County Community College then at Community College of Allegheny County where she maintained a 4.0 GPA. She worked in the nursing field as an RN for over 30 years. First at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh and then in her hometown at Latrobe Area Hospital. She was well known for her great sense of humor. There was never a dull moment when she was around. Pat loved to dance, she was especially proud when she did the Mother and Daughter Tap with her daughter at their recital. She wasn’t a cold weather person, but summer was a different story. She would spend hours planting and tending to her flowers. She loved sitting poolside just watching her grandchildren enjoying themselves. She is survived by her husband Greg (they would have celebrated their fortieth anniversary this October twenty-second) as well as by her children, Dr. Jamie Roitman (Dr. Mitchell Roitman), Glenn Donahey (Rebecca) and Meghan Wasil (Mark). Nana, as she was affectionally known, had fifteen grandchildren. She loved them all dearly. Pat is also survived by her step brother Richard (Mai) Zeungus, step sister Harriet (Harry) Shoup, brothers Lanny (Stacey) Zeunges and Wally (Lisa) Zeunges, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her special aunt Shirley. Greg would like to thank all her nursing friends (OB Girls) for all their prayers and support throughout the years. A special thank you to her best friend Rosie Simms, “Sister in Ink”, who was always there for her day or night. And last, but not least, her golden doodle Tibby who slept on her feet every night. The family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Sulecki for his wonderful care throughout her journey; Dr. Victor Bilan, the nurses and staff with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Also, UPMC Cardiologist Dr. Robert Staffen and staff for all their help. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023, in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt.
