Patricia J. (Gaffney) Magda, 80, of Youngwood (formerly of Norvelt), went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, surrounded by her loving children at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1942, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Walter and Thelma (Cole) Gaffney. Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Norvelt Sewing Factory and later became a homemaker. She was a long time member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant. Patricia loved to read, spent hours diamond painting, and was a renound discount finder and shopper. She was loving and supportive of all her family, in all ways. She had a heart of gold and the patience of a saint. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Paul J. Magda Sr. in 2010; She was the loving mother of Elizabeth (Jim) Shaffer, of Mt. Pleasant, Paul "Jimmy" (Tracy) Magda Jr., of Scottdale, Sonia (Brandon) King, of Mt. Pleasant, David (Michelle) Magda, of Latrobe, and Nicole (Herbert) Garland, of Youngwood; and the loving grandmother of Jimmy (fiancée Alycia) and Alec Shaffer, Landon S., Abigail and Mylee King, Courtney, Madelyn and Skyler Magda, Adysson C., Alexis, Kaylee and Brant Garland; and also a foster grandson, a great granddaughter Ella Rose; three siblings, Mary (Homer) Underwood, Lydia (Ron) Larrabee and Walter (Sue) Gaffney; as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023 in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023 at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, with Pastor Timothy R. Auer officiating.
