Paul R. Christie, 77 , of Mt. Pleasant Twp., died Thursday, September 11, 2014, at his home, as a result of a tragic farming accident, "certainly" doing what he loved most. Born August 15, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Tepley) Christie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George, John, Joe, and Mike Christie, sisters Margaret Molchan and Ann Crumm, brother in law Joe. Paul was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale. Prior to retirement in 2000, he was employed for 42 years by Menasha, Yukon as a foreman. Over many years Paul farmed the family farm and his strong passion was his love of gardening. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Connie (Anthony) Christie, daughter Jamie (Chris) Truett, two grandchildren Evan and Lucian Truett whom he loved dearly and his niece Kera who made her home with them. Also surviving are siblings Joanne (Jack) Overdorff, Bill (Ruth) Christie, Mary Bezpiaty, numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd.,Norvelt, 15674 where his funeral service will be Monday 10 a.m. with Rev. John Salko officiating.
