Paul Edward Perry, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, at St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 1, 1945, in Latrobe, to the late Carl "Pete" and Adda M. (Lauffer) Perry. Paul was a proud scholarship athlete at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he played football and later earned his Master’s Degree at West Virginia University. He was a retired teacher at Mt. Pleasant Area Jr. and Sr. High School where he taught Earth Science for roughly 35 years. He served as a football and wrestling coach at Mt. Pleasant Area School District, and as a football coach at Hempfield Area School District. Paul was also an avid golfer and tennis player, and was a member at Pleasant Valley Country Club and the Greensburg Racquet Club. He is survived by a son, Paul Perry; two grandchildren, Alec Paul Perry and Ava Lynn Perry, all of Austin, TX; three brothers, Carl R. Perry and his wife, Genieve, of Greensburg and their children, Carl Jr. and Dana Lynn Perry, William G. Perry and his wife, Judy, of Mt. Pleasant, and Thomas J. Perry, of Latrobe, and his children Tara May and Leah Ann Perry. Paul is also survived by his girlfriend, Mary McArdle, of Bethel Park.
