Philip John Jordan, 88 of Norvelt, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016. He was born January 4, 1928 in Chicago, IL and was the son of Edgar and Grace Jordan. Prior to Retirement, he was employed by Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of the Community Church of Norvelt. Additionally, he was a founding member of the Appalachian Wagon Train, a member of the Horse and Mule Association, and displayed antique tractors. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanine DeArmitt Jordan, in July 2000 and a brother, Joe Jordan. He is survived by his son, John Philip; granddaughter Julie Lynn Jordan; four great grandchildren; his sister Audrey (David) Lohr of Norvelt; and nephews Jeff and Bill Lohr and niece Jennifer Lohr. He is also survived by his caregiver and life-long friend, Mary Ann Mizikar. Family and Friends will be received 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd, Norvelt, PA. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, Rev. Dr. Dale L. Porterfield, officiating. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery, with Military rites accorded by Armbrust Veterans Association.
