The Rev. Donald G. Cochran, 87, of Norvelt, passed peacefully Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018. Born in 1930, he graduated from Thiel College and Gettysburg Seminary. He was ordained into the Lutheran Synod, preaching at various churches in Pennsylvania and West Virginia for 41 years. St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Scottdale was the last congregation he led before retirement. Preceding him in death was his wife of 60 years, Elsie, and his parents. Surviving Donald is brother Ed and wife Harriett, of Fla.; son Mark Cochran and his wife Susan; daughter Tammie Lutton and adopted daughter Wendy Johnson; granddaughters Brandi Lutton and significant other Tony Murphy and Candi Goodlin and husband Bill; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 6 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 600 Mulberry St., Scottdale. Interment will be held in Arentsville. Donald's arrangements are in the care of JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
