Robert C. Hoffer

Robert Hoffer, 71 of Calumet, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was born May 12, 1945, a son of Roy and Hazel Stahl Hoffer. He was an Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Sears. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo; Son Bobbie Hoffer; brothers Allen and Elmer Hoffer; sisters Nancy Grow and Nettie Mae Hoffer; and infant brother Sellers. He is survived by his sisters Mabel (Paul) Piper and Bonnie (Daniel) Baker; fiancé Gerry Doud and her family; sister and brother-in-law Sandy and John Zalich; many nieces and nephews, and cousins; and four daughters by heart Carol, Bonnie, Dawna, and Shawna and their families. Family and friends will be received 11 am – 2 pm, Friday, in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245, Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA. Robert’s funeral service will begin at 2 pm, Friday in the funeral home, Rev. Christine Doren, Officiating. He will be laid to rest in St. Florian Cemetery.
