Robert M. Polcha 73 of United passed away peacefully Saturday February 4, 2017. Born May 14, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant. He was the son of the late Michael and Anna Ondrejko Polcha. Bob was a member of St. Florian’s Catholic Church, United and had been a Local #66 Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a self-employed landscaping supplier. He had a great passion for polka dancing and also loved backhoes, macktrucks, and mountain rocks. Bob held great admiration for his grandson’s dog Kobe. He was a loving father to his daughter Christine Polcha Stokes and her husband Richard. He is also survived by three grandchildren Michael, Amanda and fiancé’ Wesley Martz and Shiann, sisters Evelyn Harhai (Andrew) of Alabama, and Lois Jean Mewherter of Latrobe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Bernice Koloshinsky Polcha, granddaughter Brianna Renee, sister Dolores Stahl, and brothers in law John Mewherter and Ernie Stahl, and the Koloshinsky in laws that have passed before. Family and friends will be received in the Jay a Hoffer funeral home Monday 6-8pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8pm. The vigil service will begin 7:45pm Tuesday in the funeral home. Transfer prayers will begin at 9:15am Wednesday in the funeral home. Followed by his funeral mass at 10am at St. Florian’s Church with Reverend John A. Sedlak celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery.
