Ronald “Dutch” Grace, 87, passed away peacefully Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Greene Rehab and Care Center. Ron was born in Armbrust on August 7, 1936 to the late Tildan Grace and Barbara Florence (Baker).
He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Grace, his two furry dog companions Chloe and Daisy, daughters Florence Grace, Kathleen Lee, Wendy Grace and Rhonda (Matthew) Krause, stepchildren Bill Myers, Ed (Donna) Myers, Sue (Mike) Grabowsky and Rich (Tonya) Myers, grandchildren Melissa and Kevin Barger, Jennifer and Chad Lockhart, Kaitlyn and Kadin Krause, Eddie, Rebecca, Billy, Zachary and Noah Myers and great-grandchildren, sisters Debbie (Jim) Harazda and Bonnie Grace. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his stepmother, Verna Grace, an infant brother Randy Grace, brother-in-law Jack Holzepfel.
Ron knew the meaning of hard work from little up, whether working the farm as a young boy to serving four years in the Army National Guard, then being a machinist at ITE, a tire guy at Hoyman’s and finally a truck driver for HCSC.
Ron always loved taking a chance on the lottery and scratch offs, listening to polkas on Saturdays and Sundays and country westerns the rest of the time. He was a member of the Roosevelt Club, South Greensburg Legion and VFW as well as the Eagles in Latrobe and Fox Hill.
He is now at peace and has no more pain. He will be greatly missed.
