Steve J. Grega, 95, of Hecla (Southwest), passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, in Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. He was born June 4, 1925, in Hecla, the son of the late John and Mary Grega. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Peg" Luckage Grega; a daughter, Mary M. Pospisil; three brothers, Joseph, Andrew and Paul Grega; and two sisters, Elizabeth Winter and Anna Stinebiser. Steve is survived by a daughter, Helen D. Lipko (Dan), of Martinsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Katie Lipko and Melinda L. (Tom) Stimmel; and a great-grandaughter, Morgan E. Stimmel. He is also survived by his brother, George Grega. He was a member of Visitation Church, Mt Pleasant. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by PPG for 30 years. Steve was a veteran of World War II in the Navy, where he served in Sea Duty as an Armed Guard around the world. He was a life member of Hecla Sportsmans Club, where he served as secretary for many years, American Legion Post 446, and was a charter and life member of the VFD. Family and friends will be received from 8 to 9 a.m. Friday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Visitation Church. Interment will follow in Visitation Cemetery, with military rites accorded by Armbrust Veterans Association.
