Thomas Brant Hemminger 72, of Trauger passed away Monday December 25, 2017 at Excela Latrobe, with his family by his side. Born February 18, 1945 in Greensburg he was the son of the late Raymond E. and Dorothea (Brant) Hemminger. Tom worked for 40 years as a machine/excavator operator prior to retirement from Schoff Construction. He was a social member of various local clubs including, United Slovak, Norvelt Fireman’s, Derry Rod and Gun and Hecla Sportman’s, where he enjoyed socializing with his many friends. Tom will best be remembered for his home made sauerkraut that he gave out every New Year’s. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Margaret (Peggy) Hemminger in 2012 and two brothers, Raymond and Ronald Hemminger. He is survived by four sons Thomas R (Kim), Timothy A. (Marie), Terry L, all of Trauger, Todd M. (Virginia) of Mt. Pleasant and one daughter, Tammy R. Koshar also of Trauger. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Tommy, Casey, Marissa, Sydney, Carrie, and Brant. Also surviving are sister, Joan Roadman and brother Ivan Hemminger, and numerous nieces nephews, neighbors and friends. Tom will be sadly missed by many. As per the family’s wishes his funeral services will be private. His funeral arrangements are in the care of the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt.
