Timothy J Grohal

d. January 17, 2021

Timothy J. Grohal, 65, of Greensburg, passed away Jan. 17, 2021, surrounded by family after a relentless fight against Glioblastoma. He was born Jan. 6, 1956, in Latrobe, a son of the late John T. and Clare J. (Marhefka) Grohal. Tim was well-loved by his family and served as a bridge across the generations. He was a beloved husband, father, and brother. He was a graduate of Seton Hill University and a longtime employee of Wabtec Corporation. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and following the Pittsburgh sports teams. Most importantly, Tim enjoyed the precious moments with family. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his sister Jeanne. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Norreen, daughter Eve (Jeffrey J. Yelinek), grandchildren Joe and Owen Yelinek, all of Greensburg; stepson Michael Crayton and granddaughter Zoe Crayton of Topeka, Kansas. Tim is also survived by his five brothers, William (Philomena), John A., Frederick, Robert (Peggy), and Steven (Kennette); his niece Lucy (Mike) Urban; his nephews, Lucas and Alexander Grohal; his great-nephews, Carter and Noah Urban, cousins, and countless friends. Strong of mind and body, Tim persevered to achieve highest quality and success. Beneath a tough exterior was a gentle and caring heart. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and could ease tense situations with just a simple joke. Above all, Tim loved his wife Norreen and daughter Eve. He adored his grandchildren and his nephews, providing guidance and laughter. Tim's faith in God never wavered throughout his ongoing battle. His passing leaves his loved ones with an incredible void, but we go forward knowing that he is always looking over and guiding us. We are one forever! Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA 15674. Prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. Interment will follow at Saint Vincent Cemetery.
