Valerie “Larry” Brehm, 94, of Acme, PA, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023, at the home of her daughter Natalie Kunkle in Acme, PA. Valerie was born April 8, 1929, in Turtle Creek, PA, to Emil and Madalaine Chamberlain. Larry graduated from Turtle Creek high school. In the early 1970’s, Larry completed her Bachelors Degree in Art at Northern Va. Community College. She and her high school sweetheart William “Bill” Brehm were wed in 1950. Until Bill's death in 2011, they raised a large family and lived and traveled around the world. Larry is also preceded by a son, William “Billie” Brehm, Jr. and a daughter, Roberta Louise. She is survived by a brother, Franklin Chamberlain (Viv) and a sister, Patrice Nese (Vince). Valerie will be greatly missed by her children, Laurie Wehle (Terence), Natalie Kunkle (Paul), Matthew (Andrea Ferguson) Brehm and Margaret Barnes. Larry leaves 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren to mourn her. Larry’s family was her life. She was skilled in sewing and painting. She was a lifelong active Christian practicing on three continents. Everywhere that Larry and Bill lived, she became involved in the culture and the people. Larry “bloomed where she was planted” and enjoyed life to the fullest. Larry and Bill returned to western Pennsylvania in 2005 to be near family. As per her wishes there will be no public visitations. A private graveside service will be held June 30, 2023, at Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville, PA at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Mom’s Life gathering will be announced.
