Virginia L. (Wagner) Greer, 92, of Norvelt, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Born April 16, 1922 in Armbrust, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Sarah (Baird) Wagner. Virginia graduated from Stanwood School at 16, and Youngwood School at 18. She had been previously employed at French Dye Works and as a secretary at Walworth's. Virginia was a member of Norvelt Union Church, and a member of the Alzheimer's Counseling Group. She loved her flower garden and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Ervin L. Greer in 2011, and a sister Elsie (Wagner) Duke. She is survived by her loving children, Vanessa (Paul) Bish, of Jeannette, Eunice (Randall) Stauffer of Douglasville, GA, Pastor David Greer, of Norvelt, Patricia (Alan) Brannaka of Ruffsdale; Grandchildren, Amanda (John) Vann, Benjamin (Nicole) Bish, Paul (Krystal) Bish, Jesse (Storey) Stauffer, Daniel Stauffer, Tabitha Wentzel; Great Grandchildren; Heather, John Jr., Megan, Charlotte, Paul IV, Andrew, Samuel, Lori, Alex, and nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday and 10 – 11 AM Saturday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME 2245 MT. PLEASANT RD., NORVELT, 15674, where her funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday with her son, Pastor David L. Greer, and her friend, Pastor Shirley Farino as Co-Celebrants. Interment to follow at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
