Wilmer Abraham McGiffin

Wilmer Abraham McGiffin, 82 of Mount Pleasant Township passed away peacefully January 3, 2016 at home. Born April 28, 1933 in Brinkerton, he was the son of a late Abraham S and Mabel (Overly) McGiffin. Wilmer was the owner and operator of McGiffin trucking. He was the member of Mount Pleasant Church of the Brethren but attended Mount Pleasant Church of God. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his bother-in law Dr. Donald Casteel. He was the loving husband of 57 years to Mary Jane (Leichliter) McGiffin. The loving father to his daughter Melanie Mancuso and husband Joe of Mount Pleasant and his son Dr. Craig W. McGiffin of Virginia Beach, and also survived by his sister Zaneth (McGiffin) Casteel. Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-9 pm Tuesday in the Jay A. Hoffer funeral Home 2245 Mount Pleasant Road Norvelt 15674 where his funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday with Reverend Ronald Overly, officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Joy Cemetery, Star Route, Mount Pleasant.
